Registration is now open for those interested in becoming an official Halloween Candy collection site for the 2017 Soldiers' Angels Treats for Troops Program. Treats for Troops is a program in which local businesses, traditionally but not limited to dental offices, agree to accept excess Halloween candy from kids in exchange for goodies. Through the Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops program, businesses can register to serve as a collection site for this program. Not only will you be serving the community by buying back candy and removing it from the mouths of children, but also serving our service members, wounded heroes, and veterans. For families with too much candy in your home, this is your opportunity to support a good cause, allow your kids to earn prizes, and receive a tax deductible receipt for your donation. This year, our goal is to collect 17,000 pounds of candy for our service members and veterans! Click here to learn more about Treats for Troops or to register as an official collection site.

Receiving something as small as a card can have a huge impact on the morale of a deployed service member or the morale of a veteran patient at a VA Hospital. This Valentine's Day, be sure to help us spread the love to our brave heroes and sheroes by sending Valentine's Day cards and $1 per card to the Soldiers' Angels Valentines for Veterans campaign. With your help, we will ship these cards to deployed and hand out in person at VA Hospitals across the country. Need some inspiration to get your cards started? Check out our Valentines for Veterans blog with tips, inspiration, and photos of past valentines.

Soldiers' Angels Veteran Mobile Food Distributions have become a staple for thousands of low-income, at-risk, and homeless veteran families in cities across the country. The event provides approximately 50 pounds of supplemental food assistance to the registered families in the form of fresh produce, non-perishable food items, and meat. Currently, the distribution occurs monthly in five cities: Atlanta, Georgia; Charleston, South Carolina; Denver, Colorado; Detroit, Michigan; and San Antonio, Texas. Soldiers' Angels is in the process of opening additional cities in 2018. Click here to watch our video about the Soldiers' Angels Mobile Food Distributions to learn more.
We think our Angels are already some of the most amazing, kind, and selfless individuals on the planet-- but even Angels have resolutions to be better at what they do best! We asked our Angels what their Soldiers’ Angels resolutions were this year. Here is what they resolve to do in 2018...
Every year during the holiday season, we are blown away by the incredible support we see from our Angel volunteers, supporters, donors, and community partners. This year, we want to shine some light on one Angel volunteer who has gone above and beyond for our service members, wounded heroes, veterans and military families. Our latest blog features Angel Barbara and her amazing team of elves, I mean co-workers, at the Military Service Network at Barclaycard. Not only did her team adopt 8 large families (49 kids and 16 adults!!)-- but they also donated stuffed stockings, contributed a monetary donation, and more! Read the full story about this amazing Angel and her team.
Last year, The Home Depot Regional Office in Canton, Massachusetts collected over 400 stockings for the Soldiers' Angels Holiday Community Partner Program-- beating their original pledge of collecting 50 stockings. This year, they are back and have blown their 2017 goal even further out of the water-- they pledged 500 and collected 1,401! Read our latest blog post to learn more about this incredible group and see their latest stocking images.
On November 21st, more than 200 volunteers, including 76ers players and coaches, Toyota employees, and military service members worked together to give back. They packaged 2,000 holiday stockings, 2,000 hygiene kits and 1,000 boxed lunches for deployed service members, and veterans at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Philadelphia. Read the full story and check out some of the photos on our latest blog post.
Thanks to the continued support from the Books-A-Million Coffee for the Troops campaign, we have a new shipment of delicious Joe Muggs coffee that is ready to be shipped to our deployed service members. Believe it or not, coffee is one of the most requested items from our deployed and they are always thrilled to receive it! Please help us get this coffee to our troops by donating now! A contribution of just $18 will provide 496 cups of coffee for deployed.
This year we set a new record--- 13,000 stuffed holiday stockings pledged through our Holiday Community Partner Program! Individuals, businesses, and organizations have stepped up in a huge way this year to spread some holiday cheer to deployed service members and veterans. From contributions of 1 stocking to over 1,400 stockings, each and every partner in this program is helping to ensure that our military heroes and sheroes know we remember and support them. The stockings are flowing in to our headquarters in San Antonio and to our VA Representatives across the country. Take a look at our Facebook album to see just some of the amazing stockings that are on their way to troops and veterans!
Birthdays are a big deal on Facebook. Months before your Birthday, select friends are prompted to start planning a party for you and on your actual Birthday your friends are all notified and prompted to post on your timeline. The result is a wall full of Birthday wishes that make your special day a little more special. In an effort to be a little more charitable, Facebook has a fun new Birthday feature that we’re really excited about! Now, you can DONATE your Birthday and raise funds for a charity-- including Soldiers' Angels!
